Health communication is an important tool for work with tuberculosis and a focus area for LHL International. In 2014 an external evaluation was made of health communication efforts, and the main conclusions in the report were very positive.
The communication courses make health workers and voluntary treatment supporters better equipped and motivated to care for the patients’ needs, and the patient-friendly informational brochures are an important part of the treatment process.
